The SSBA was established in 1909 by a group of sheep producers who wanted to improve the sheep industry in Saskatchewan. This group new that by working together they could promote the sheep industry, deal with significant issues, and support each other in the raising of high caliber breeding sheep.
The SSBA plays a role in coordinating efforts to support the industry, including resources like this website that are intended to help existing producers and new entrants find the information and contacts they need to grow and prosper.
The Saskatchewan Sheep Breeders' Association is an organization of 36 breeders of purebred sheep across Saskatchewan, representing many breeds of sheep. We are a democratic organization, operated by officers and directors elected by the membership. We are dedicated to working for the interests of sheep breeders across Saskatchewan, whatever breed they may happen to represent.
